Scoliosis is a disorder in which there is a sideways curve of the spine. Curves are often S-shaped or C-shaped. In most people, there is no known cause for this curve. The most common type (idiopathic) is caused by unknown factors and typically occurs in children ages 10 to 12 and in their early teens. People of all ages can have scoliosis.
EARLY DETECTION IS KEY! Dr. Asghar recommends all children between the ages of 8-15 receive a scoliosis screening. At Cantor Spine Institute, we offer scoliosis screenings for $35, which includes an x-ray. Appointments are available on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. To schedule you child’s scoliosis screening, please call (954) 567-1332.
